some power is the absence of power
or the tucking away
into a pillowcase
after you make your bed
and sleep for a day.

some girl is mad at some guy
and she speaks
in short snaps
sulking
leaning her head against the elevator
as we move six floors up
and she walks ahead
and i lean against the bathroom
in a torn short shirt
brushing my teeth
nonchalant, cool
behind two flossing lovers in a fight.

some power is a freight train.
and don't you forget
some power is
always
here
and there.
